Through a series of 1% rate increases known as Municipal Option Sales Tax (MOST), is one of the tools that has enabled the city to fund this project. MOST has generated more than $700 Million since 2004, making it possible for the Department to issue bonds that have funded the program.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Watershed Management has proposed to maintain the current monthly water and sewer rate structure for the period beginning July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2020. Revenues from the MOST, careful fiscal planning and conservation efforts have allowed Atlanta to keep rates at current levels. Residents will not see an increase in their monthly bill. The monthly rates apply to domestic, commercial, industrial and other users of the City of Atlanta system. The water meter is read monthly to determine consumption.  A CCF is 100 cubic feet of water, or approximately 750 gallons.
